Ocean Haven - peace and quiet, time to relax, where the sun sets on the ocean. The beach is an easy five minute walk. For the hiker, access to several casual trails - one of the few locations facing the ocean.

Our location is a great base for day trips, and allows you to take 2-3 days to enjoy Cape Breton Island, to enjoy the people, the scenery, and have fun! There are many communities, events, and activities within an hour’s reach - Cheticamp, Ingonish, Mabou, or Baddeck. This gives you a day to relax, enjoy a fine meal and be back by sunset.

The Beaches

A step back in time, a restored 120 year old country house features spacious rooms, two rooms with queen-size beds, a guests lounge, and a great deck facing fantastic sunsets over the ocean. You are surrounded by fields, often frequented by a variety of wildlife and many species of birds.

Our cottage faces the ocean. A modest bungalow, fully equipped and spacious, is a home away from home. As the single cottage at Ocean Haven it offers you privacy and the freedom to roam the fields, paths, and beaches at your leisure.

The Margaree River joins the ocean at Margaree Harbour Beach on the south side, Belle Cote beach to the north. Both beaches have public access and handy parking. Belle Cote is an active fishing harbour and seabird nesting area. Enjoy sunsets, smell salt air, swim in the salt water, or stroll the beach.
